An Clamhan is a luxury self catering accommodation with the living space designed in an open plan style containing everything you would require.

An Clamhan is situated with 2 acres of birch woodland with views to the sea and is home to a wide variety of bird life. Seals and sea birds are commonly seen on the shore with clear views from the house.

Our timber clad house built in 2019, An Clamhan, name after the buzzards which can be seen frequently be seen riding the thermals around the property, is a luxurious Highland retreat for two. Finished to a very high standard this property offers both indoor and outdoor comforts, double height floor-to-ceiling windows and underfloor heating powered by an air-source heat pump. The house is located 6 miles north west of the village of Dunvegan and Dunvegan Castle and Gardens, seat of Clan Macleod. Colbost is a small community of houses and open moorland on the western shore of Loch Dunvegan

With sheep often our closest neighbour, An Clamhan boasts stunning views of Loch Dunvegan and the Cuillin Mountain Range in close proximity.

After EXPLORING, come back to RELAX, UNWIND by the fire, or enjoy your favourite tipple on the front porch and watch the setting sun play with the colours of the lochs and islands.

We are from the Highlands of Scotland and have lived on Skye since the 1970’s and live in the village of Dunvegan, 5 miles away from  An Clamhan. We have been in the hospitality trade for many years and pride ourselves in providing a quality experience for our guests.

  • What is check in time?

    Check-in is from 4pm - 6pm. Other times, where possible, by arrangement. Check-out is by 10am. We can not allow access to the house outside of these times without prior agreement with the owners.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    If you decide to cancel we will try to re-let the house. If successful a full refund will be made, if not then the deposit will be forfeited. However if cancellation occurs within six weeks of the let commencement date and the house is not re-let, then the full fee will be forfeited

  • Do we pay a deposit?

    Bookings are handled by our secure partners FreeToBook. A 25% deposit will be required at time of booking. Secure payment links will be sent, we accept all major credit and debit cards.

  • How and when do we pay the balance?

    The remaining balance will be required 6 weeks prior to let date (unless a late booking or by special arrangement).

  • How many beds are there?

    There is one Super King sized bed.

  • Do you provide towels?

    Yes. One full set per guest is provided.

  • Is there WiFi?

    Yes. We have fibre to the premises.

  • Do I need car to get around?

    Yes, definitely! The house is situated in a rural location with no regular bus service. Information on taxi services can be provided on request.

  • How far are you from the nearest village?

    We are approximately 5 miles from the village of Dunvegan. There you will find a grocery store, fruit and vegetable store, bakery, and some local restaurants and cafes.

  • Is there a hairdryer?

    Yes.

  • Is there a washing machine?

    Yes. Cleaning products are also provided free of charge.

  • Will we need to provide logs for fire?

    All logs are provided free of charge for the duration of your stay.
